Events

The society aims to offer its members a divers events calendar featuring…

Academic Events: Including public lectures, debates, documentary screenings and workshops. These aim to raise awareness on the work of the United Nations and of current pressing international issues. As well as being educational, these events aim to provide a forum for discussion.

Career Events: We also organise events suitable for those wishing to pursue a career in the many UN bodies.

We do this firstly by inviting speakers with experience working for the UN, which give you an insight into the various paths that exist within the organisation.

Secondly, by organising networking events with LSE alumni who have either done interships or work within the UN. This allows you not only to inform yourself of different work and intern opportunities, but also to get advice on how to apply.

Campaigns: Throughout the year the society chooses to feature certain UN campaigns, raising both awareness and funds. Events will also be held in conjunction with these campaigns.

UNA/UNYSA Events: As a member of the LSE SU UN Society you are also invited to many of the events held by the United Nations Association (UNA) and the United Nation Youth and Student Association, of which this society is a branch.

Social Events: The society aims to be a hub for those with an interest in the UN and international affairs. Thus social events are also features in the events calendar. These include pub nights, parties and our annual Christmas dinner.

Help us create and improve events! As YOUR society we want to organise events of interest to YOU. We are constantly looking for guest-speakers, themes and input, so please feel free to contact the society events director and/or events officers.

All the best,

TheĀ Events Team
